Charging the batteries

In this post, we present two simple ones rules charging batteries used in electric vehicles. These rules extend lifetime of cells used in them:

I. First, you should know that when not in use, the battery should be recharged every two months:

- full lead-acid batteries

- lithium-ion batteries up to about 70%

II. Second, during everyday While using the vehicle, both types of batteries can always be fully charged, but undercharging the lithium battery will increase its service life. In contrast, undercharging a lead-acid battery will reduce its life and capacity. Besides, you should try not to lead never the battery is either overcharged or completely discharged. Fully discharging is particularly harmful to a lead acid battery and care should be taken to maintain it fully charged. When it comes to overcharging, a good charger protects you against that but cheap chargers for lead-acid batteries often do not have the last stage of charging (float charge), which will maintain the state of charge of the battery; instead, it can overcharge after several dozen hours. Leaving the batteries on the charger overnight, even for 24 hours, is not there is a problem, and it should even have a positive effect on lead-acid batteries. In old batteries, however, another phenomenon of not accepting the charge may occur, so that the charger will never switch to a state of reduced charging current and heats up the battery in such a way that it seriously damages it, which may take place after several hours or even earlier. Okay practice is the habit of charging after each ride with the help of an appropriate timer , which not only facilitates charging, but also protects against overcharging: e.g. Ansmann AES1 and others presented in another blog entry:

Finally, we will add that they exist specific technologies that may require slightly separate best charging practices, however higher these rules apply generally to these types of batteries and adhering to them will surely extend the life of the battery rather than failure to comply with them. If you have a battery other than that sold by GO ELECTRIC , it is best to find out about the details directly from the manufacturer of the battery.
